Hi there,

I'm using kunena for more than 3 years. I was and I'm so happy using it in my educational website as the forum solution. :) But recently few weeks ago I'm getting recurrent mysql error which says "Could not connect to mysql database". Initially I thought that it could be due to restrictions of the shared hosting. So I moved my site to a VPS (1GB ram & 1 core) in digitalocean!
But still I'm getting the error. As soon as I restart the mysql, everything comes back to normal. Also when I repair and optimize the mysql database of the site everyday, the incidents of the error is less. But still I couldn't figure out the problem why I'm still getting it.

I have only installed Kunena, akeeba backup & akeeba admin tools as extensions.

Hello,

Do-you have empty space on hard disk ?

In your log, i can see that MySQL has been not shutdown correctly, i think it's you that you have tried to restart mysql :

150331 22:12:14 InnoDB: Database was not shut down normally!
InnoDB: Starting crash recovery.

Hi xillibit,

I have allocated 10Gb for the joomla website with the forum and I have more than 8Gb free space.

The error used to occur every other day. When I get the error, I restart the mysql. As soon as I restart it, everything comes back to normal.

I'm pretty confused because I had the same problem when I was using shared hosting at ipage. Now the same problem is with my VPS. (To host the sites, I'm using webmin control panel.)
