Hello

I cant seem to generate any thumbnail images on my kunena forum. A lot of the image attachments uploaded to the forums will be of the dimensions 2048px x 2048px.

I can upload the images fine but the size of the image does not decrease in size like I want it to do as per backend settings.

============================================================================================
Image upload settings

Maximum Image File Size 4000 kB
Maximum Image Width 2048px
Maximum Image Height 2048px
Thumbnail Width 64px
Thumbnail Height 64px
Image Quality for JPG 100%

Any help will be appreciated as I am still learning and getting familiar with this software.

I'm not sure whether I have understood the question correctly. You mean the images in the messages?

Yes you are correct I have provided an image of my problem

I want the below image displayed but at a much smaller dimension,Its current state fills the whole forum space.

(preferred method if possible)but obviously I want to click on the thumbnail and it opens up into its original size which would be 2048 x 2048px

The thumbnails are not displayed in the messages. You can see the thumbnails in other places (such as in the File Manager). If you use the template Blue Eagle:
Add this code at the end in your Joomla! custom.css (or template.css if the file doesn't exists).

Code:
#Kunena div.kmsgbody div.kmsgtext img { max-width: 64px !important; }
